FasciaBlaster Under Fire for Causing Injuries When Trying to Get Rid of Cellulite

On Behalf of | Nov 24, 2017 | Product Liability

The supposed “magic tool” that eliminates cellulite – FasciaBlaster – has come under fire for causing severe injuries in users, and now people across the country are suing the founder – a prominent figure in the beauty industry – Ashley Black for product liability.

The popularity of FasciaBlaster peaked a few weeks ago when the anti-cellulite tool was promoted during America’s favorite reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

During the infamous episode, Khloe Kardashian used a FasciaBlaster on sister Kourtney Kardashian and claimed that she had regularly used the anti-cellulite tool on herself, scrubbing it really hard, as instructed by the founder and manufacturer.

Obviously, half of the country adores Kardashians and are obsessed with their svelte figures, so the sales of FasciaBlaster after the episode went through the roof immediately.

But a Sherman Oaks lawyer, Perrin F. Disner, is now handling a class action lawsuit featuring several women and one man who claims that FasciaBlaster caused minor and severe injuries when trying to get rid of cellulite.

The plaintiffs are also accusing Black of false advertising, arguing that the anti-cellulite tool is not as effective as the advertisement claims it to be.

What Injuries Does Fasciablaster Cause?

The problem with FasciaBlaster, which costs $89, is that it instructs users to use the tool with too much pressure to scrub the cellulite hard. Our product liability attorney at the Licata & Yeremenko, A Professional Law Corporation  has examined the case and put together a non-exhaustive list of the alleged injuries caused by FasciaBlaster, based on ongoing lawsuits:

  • Intense menstrual side-effects.
  • Hormonal misbalance (Progesterone dropping and Estrogen levels going up).
  • Compromised fertility.
  • Tingling in the feet (which makes it painful to walk at times).
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Migraines.
  • Neck and shoulder pain.
  • Dizziness.
  • Severe gastrointestinal distress.
  • Prolonged painful constipation.
  • Violent diarrhea.
  • Severe varicose and spider veins.

Above all, some plaintiffs allege that the use of the anti-cellulite tool resulted in a worsening appearance of cellulite.

In a class-action lawsuit like this, multiple parties may be sued for a defective product and for causing injuries to seek compensation: the manufacturer of the product, the manufacturer of its components, the company that assembles it, the wholesaler, advertiser, and the store that sold the product.

Only an experienced product liability lawyer can determine liability in your particular claim, as you will need to take legal action against multiple parties if you were hurt when using FasciaBlaster or any other product.
